The Mower Family. Three generations of one family have shaped the products in your hands today – from a Salt Lake City farm to a global wellness company. This is who they are.

Want the full origin story – the shampoo discovery, the Andes ingredient, the founding of Neways? Read the Mower Mission. This page is about the people behind it.

Tom Mower Sr – The Founder

An industrial chemist, entrepreneur and formulator, Tom Mower Sr spent his career questioning why household and personal-care products relied on the same harsh chemicals he’d once used in industrial cleaners. That question became a lifelong mission – founding Images and Attitudes in 1987 (renamed Neways in 1992), and later Sisel International in 2006. He established the core philosophy that still guides the company: research constantly, remove anything potentially harmful, and never stop looking for something better. Tom Mower Sr passed away in 2020, but the mission he began continues through his family.

Tom Mower Jr – CEO & Co-Founder

Tom Mower Jr, CEO of Sisel International

Tom Mower Jr worked alongside his father from the start, helping build Neways before co-founding Sisel International. As CEO today, he’s spoken openly about what drives the company’s approach to leadership and growth:

  • Debt-free by design. Sisel operates without debt, which Tom Jr credits with giving employees, distributors and customers confidence the company will be around for the long term.
  • Full manufacturing control. Sisel is one of the most diversified manufacturers in the Mountain West region of the US, producing everything from skincare to nutritional supplements in-house – no outsourcing, no third-party formulation.
  • Sustainable sourcing. Key ingredients like Limu Moui (a seaweed used in FuCoyDon) are harvested under strict sustainability limits – only the top portion of each plant is taken, and the roots are always left intact.
  • Giving back. Through corporate and distributor donations, Sisel’s SiselNUTRIFY programme has helped fortify over three million children’s meals across 26 countries. The Mower family also founded the Earth Stewardship Foundation, contributing to the protection of endangered species and fragile environments.
  • A family business, structurally. Sisel has set up a Dynasty Trust specifically to ensure the company can endure for generations – with no family member ever forced to work there, but the opportunity always open to those who want to.

The Next Generation

Tom Mower Jr’s sons, Thomas Mower and Kaden Mower, are actively involved in running the company today, bringing degrees in marketing and biology to the business. His sister, Leisel Mower, also plays a role in the company. All three represent the next chapter of a family that’s been asking the same question for decades: how do we make this better, safer, and built to last?

A Family Business, Not Just a Family-Owned One

How Tom Mower Jr and Tom Mower Sr Built Sisel's Legacy

The Mower family’s involvement in Sisel isn’t limited to boardroom decisions – it shows up in the day-to-day. Tom Mower Jr has described growing up around the Mower Mission before Sisel even existed, working alongside his father on their farm. That same environment is now shaping the next generation, with Tom Jr’s own children and grandchildren growing up around the company’s values.

Unlike companies that rely entirely on outside manufacturers, Sisel’s hands-on family oversight extends from concept through to the finished product on a shelf – which is part of why the company was able to adapt quickly during pandemic-era supply chain disruptions, when many competitors couldn’t.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve followed the Mower Mission since I was 26 – back when I was a Neways distributor, long before Sisel existed. What keeps me here isn’t just the products, it’s knowing there’s a real family behind every formula, still asking the same questions Tom Mower Sr started asking decades ago.
