It’s an exciting time to be writing the Mower Message! December is the perfect month to reflect on the year that has passed, acknowledge the progress made, and set new goals for the future. Before making any New Year’s resolutions, recognise what you have achieved and determine how you can better your goals to go even further than before! In this message, I want to dive into my top health goal from the past year, assess how much of it I achieved, and plan how I can move forward with an even better goal.
At the beginning of January, I weighed 236 pounds and realized I hated the way I looked in the mirror. I set a goal to lose weight and get back to my normal weight of 210 pounds within six months, just in time for Mower Mountain in June. As we launched Sisel Turn & Burn™, I committed to taking the products consistently, going to the gym at least four times a week, and eating a healthy diet. Within three months, I was already below my goal weight, so I set a new goal to get below 200 pounds by Mower Mountain. A month later, I had achieved that goal as well, so I revised my goal again and aimed to get below 190 pounds by Mower Mountain, a goal that I had never thought was possible. Just a week before that June 14th date, I stepped on the scale and was thrilled to see that I weighed only 187 pounds. Besides seeing a better image in the mirror, I also noticed that I had more energy throughout the day. I could hike without taking constant breaks and experienced less body pain. These benefits, along with countless others, have allowed me to live a happier and healthier life.
Reflecting on this significant achievement, I am looking back to see why I succeeded in reaching my goals and figuring out how I can reach next year’s goals. When I set my goal, I made sure that it was realistic and achievable. I also made sure that it was measurable so I could track my progress. This helped me gain more confidence as I saw myself making progress. I set milestones along the way that would enable me to achieve those goals and allow me to celebrate each achievement. Finally, I never let the end of my goal be the end of my journey.
I hope that all of you reading this message are looking at your past year’s goals and accomplishments, celebrating them, and looking for ways to become better this upcoming year. The effort it took to reach where you are today will not give you the same growth next year. You must strive to better yourself and push yourself to new levels every step of the way.
