We are live streaming, and Katie, thanks for putting this all together. And, you know, everybody, thanks for joining us tonight, whether you’re on the call live here or if you’re on one of the live streams or if you’re listening to this recording. You know, it’s uh, it’s always exciting to be here.
We’re here every week, every Friday night for me. You know, I tell people, well, I guess I don’t have a social life. I’m home every Friday night here. It is nine o’clock, and I’m working. But you know, people ask me, Katie, they say, “Why do you work on Friday night? Why don’t you do this on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday?” And my answer is that, you know, in order to connect with the rest of the world, yeah, I’m up here in the northern hemisphere, you’re down in the hot southern hemisphere. In order to get us both on the same call, the only time we can really do it is to do it on a Friday night or a Saturday night, and it’s Sunday morning down there, yeah, I mean Saturday morning down there, that’s right. Well, Saturday lunchtime now, yeah, okay, so it’s Saturday.
You know, I kind of tell people that along the way when I got started with network marketing, I like to share this story with people that I didn’t get into it to sell products. I didn’t get into it to sell products because I think people get that idea that we’re a vitamin company, therefore, we have to be vitamin pushers, we have to be vitamin salespeople, and that’s the furthest from the truth. That’s the furthest from the truth because if I had to live on the money I made from just my pure customers, the people that just buy vitamins from me, I’d have to learn how to live on about 700 a month, Katie, right? And I’m telling you, I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t do that.
But so what happened to me? I mean, I’m not going to go through the whole thing, I got in a bad motorcycle wreck and I needed to find a way of providing an income for my family. I was crippled up, I was in a wheelchair, the doctors told me I might not ever walk again and I needed to find a way to make money to provide for my family, and so I knew a couple of guys who had made a lot of money in network marketing. One of my friends, John, I’m still friends with John, he’s been in a couple of companies since I got started with it, but John’s made probably, I was thinking about it the other day, he’s probably made 20 million in the industry, he’s done really well for himself, wow, and John is one of those guys that barely made it through high school but he was really good at telling his own story and telling stories, and that’s what network marketing is all about.
But John told me when I asked him, I knew that I wasn’t going to go back to the clinic anymore, I was, I mean, I was in a wheelchair for two years, and I asked John, “What do you need to do?” And he said, “First thing, find a company that you can wrap your arms around, the company, and you can say, ‘This is my company, this is a company that I can see myself, people ask me all the time, they say, ‘Well, how did you start your company?’ Like, I own Sisel, and I and I have to laugh and I said, ‘Well, I wish it was my company, I wish I had started Sisel, but I’ve got my own little Branch, I’ve got my own little franchise business, and that’s really what we what we are, and the business isn’t selling vitamin the business is helping other people find a way to start their own business because I mean, sure, I’d love to own a Starbucks, I could be making a lot of money with a Starbucks, I could own a McDonald’s or a Burger King or you know Hungry Jack’s, I guess you guys call it down there in Australia, but um, you know it takes a lot of money to start up a business like that when I went into Chiropractic.
The first thing I had to do is I spent uh, six years of my life going to college to get that degree and then I had to pass a bunch of board tests so that I could get my license so I could practice, and then I had to find a place that I could open my business, it cost me about, two hundred thousand dollars just to start my business, I was already, you know sixty thousand dollars in debt, and then I, I had to get another 200,000 and start the business so I was over a quarter million in debt and I didn’t have my first patient, well before you started, well right, and you think about that, Katie, so my first day of opening and I did really good at preparing for my opening for my grand opening um I followed a plan and it worked I mean I’m not going to complain about it, it worked, but the first day was really scary, I opened my doors, you know how many people I saw that first day, one, one, and he forgot his checkbook at home so he couldn’t even pay me, I charged twenty dollars, I was a quarter million dollars in debt, and uh, and and, and uh, the guy who came to see me forgot his check but couldn’t even pay me the twenty dollars.
I remember my wife at the time looked at me she was my front desk person and she said oh my God what did we do, yeah and and I look at network marketing to me to understand this business it’s so cool Katie I mean because you know you you really don’t have to you don’t have to have a college education like my friend Johnny’s made over 20 million dollars and he doesn’t have a college education he barely graduated from high school he’s dyslexic he can barely read but he’s done really good with this yeah because he’s good at at duplication duplicating the process of what we’re doing and what we’re doing is we’re teaching people that this isn’t a business of selling vitamins right this is a business that teaches people how to run a business and I and I think that’s an important concept that we have to get across to people Katie right yep definitely yeah yeah and you know the the sky is the limit that’s the other thing that I love about this business the sky is really the limit um you know you and I are in the same team we work together one of us could just go crazy with our business and independent of each other we could we could make tons and tons of money helping other people or we could enroll somebody you know somebody like like Sally you know um she could jump on board and go I’m going to make this thing happen and she could surpass both of our incomes even though we got started before she did yeah that’s that’s that’s the beauty of this yeah and that’s where the person who you’ve joined up or the person so-called I guess below you in terms of a timeline they can now earn you they can now earn you and people.
Uh, I was just, it was fun, I was having a lot of excitement with it. You know, and I made a little bit of money, but it just never seemed to kind of take off from it. Two and a half years later, they announced that they were gonna make some big changes in the company. What actually turned out is that the owner was starting another company and he had figured out that he could start another company, move everybody over there, and make a ton more money on that company. He made a weaker Compensation Plan, and he just basically shut down the company that we were in. Everybody was on board, and we just, we just money gone, all the income that you’ve been earning.
So the dynasty trust or the dynasty trust as you guys pronounce it in Australia, um, that’s protection for us. That’s protection for us that they can’t do that to us, they can’t all of a sudden just go, yeah, we’re gonna pull the rug open underneath your feet, you built it, you built this for us and now we’re gonna steal it from you, we’re gonna steal it back and resell the company. Yeah, so that’s not happening.
You know when we talk about real products, I mean a lot of companies out there, their products are just, you know, are they really life-changing products? Sisel has quite a number of products that have been just absolute game-changers for people. You know, I don’t even know if we can say it, well, I’m going to say it’s my personal opinion. I believe that without some of the products that people have used, they may not actually be here. That’s my personal opinion, you know, I’m not claiming to change, I don’t, I don’t think a lot of us would be around if I mean there would have been a lot of people who would have, um, failed to survive the last couple of years, and we won’t say why, but you know, Katie, so I brought this little pill bottle with me, I don’t know if you can see it, yeah, Sisel TSX, yeah.
So I was on my way to St. Louis, I was going to be a speaker at an environmental medicine conference, so it’s a good day’s drive to get there, and I was going through Omaha, and I happened to stop and see an old friend of mine who had also made about five million in the industry in network marketing, and I stopped and talked to him, and he said he said, “Curt, he said, you got to listen to this recording and you got to take a look at this product,” right? And he gave me this product, he gave me a bottle of it, and it’s not a cheap product.
I mean, there are 30 pills, there are 30 capsules in this bottle, and the retail price on it is what, 150 bucks approximately, yeah. So think about that, everyone, so a little tiny bottle with 30 pills, retail value of 150, right? So that’s five dollars a pill, and you’re thinking, oh my God, they’re ripping you off, right? But I knew about the science of this because I was going to all these anti-aging seminars, and I just really heard about the anti-aging information on telomeres, and the Nobel Prize was given to a group of scientists because they had discovered that they could reverse the telomeres’ age, which helps to keep us so that theoretically we can’t, we know we can’t make any giant claims or anything, but in theory, we could live longer, and I just really understood that science, and all of a sudden I’m listening to Tom our senior, the founder of our company, talking about this product that he had developed using that science. The other product that was on the market at a time, this was all, this was only the second product of its kind that I had heard of ever at that time, the other one cost um, cost three times as much and it had about a tenth of the ingredients that our product had, yeah, wow.
And, and I thought, I got to take a look at this because I’d met the scientist who worked on um the, the Nobel Prize, and I, so friends of mine had been involved with, with that and um, so Katie, that’s what got me involved because as a doctor, I wanted to have products like you said, I wanted to have real products that worked.
Yeah, they get real results. We’re not just doing a business to make money; there are a million ways to make money in business. But if your heart’s not in it and it doesn’t bring you happiness or joy, you won’t be able to sustain it for long. The reason why you and I are still here doing these calls after so many years is because the products have made such a significant impact in our lives, our families’ lives, and our friends’ lives. Personally, I believe that if I hadn’t met you and started using these products, I might not even be here today. The same can be said for many of your family members. These products mean so much to us, and they truly make a difference.
Moreover, the added bonus is that there’s a business alongside it that earns real money, and you can stay motivated because you know the products get results. So, it’s easy to keep that motivation going because you’re making a difference. At the end of your life, you’ll be thinking about the impact you left on the world and the relationships you had with your family and friends. You can join any other company, but if your heart’s not truly in it, I can’t see it working.
People often say, “I’m not good at sales, I don’t want to get into vitamin sales.” But you don’t have to do that. You can talk to people about non-toxic products like toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, and laundry detergents. Our products are toxin-free and safe to use every day. You can start your business by helping people have non-toxic products in their homes without having them spend extra money.
Regarding the business opportunity, it’s not about being a great salesperson or doing motivational calls. It’s all about focusing on the daily activity and building a business around your lifestyle.
