Water Filtration Systems

The first step to create healthy water is to cleanse it of unwanted impurities by using an effective water filtration system. Water filtration systems can use a variety of filtration media to achieve this. Be aware that reverse osmosis and distillation can remove beneficial, acid buffering minerals including magnesium, calcium and potassium.

These minerals are always found in natural springs and they are a key requirement for healthy water. So it is best if the water filtration system you use has some method of enhancement to put the acid buffering minerals back into the water.

Why use a water filtration system?

Water filtration systems can contain different types of carbon filtration, find one that contains both – Organic Coconut and Activated Carbon

Carbon is the world’s oldest filtration method known being recorded in both ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia where it was used to remove basic contaminants, odours and improve taste. Carbon is the perfect material for removing chlorine and other organic chemical compounds and comes in many different grades according to the contaminant needing to be removed. Some water filtration systems use both Organic Coconut and Activated carbon to protect against a wide range of chemicals, often reducing them to non-detectable levels.

Organic CarbonSome of the contaminants treated by carbon include;

  • Chlorine
  • Chloramines
  • Volatile organic compounds
  • Taste and odour
  • A range of heavy metals

SPG Silica used in some water filtration systems

SPG Silica can be used as a primary filtration media instead of carbon in some water filtration systems. SPG is a specially processed volcanic sand that plays a dual role in water filtration systems, as a protective barrier and an active agent in enhancing the properties of water.

SPG has a micron rating that varies from 0.5 microns to 3 microns and is designed to;

  • Guard against asbestos, dirt, rust and sediment
  • Prevent contamination from bacteria and cysts
  • Enhance water purity and taste

KDF 55 & 85 is a unique water filtration media

KDF® is a high-purity, granulated copper and zinc-based alloy that treats water based on the principle of REDOX (Oxidation-Reduction). KDF’s induces an electro-chemical reaction in which electrons are transferred between molecules.

Many harmful contaminants are changed into harmless components. Free chlorine is changed into chloride (salt). Heavy metals such as Copper, Lead and Mercury react and are then more easily captured by carbon or silica. KDF enhances filtration performance by;

  • Controlling or eliminated micro-organisms
  • Extending carbon life & reducing maintenance
  • Reducing many chemical and heavy metal contaminants

KDF’s REDOX activity also creates an environment that’s
deadly to some micro-organisms and interferes with the ability of others function.

How can water filtration systems protect against bacteria and cysts?

Additionally, some water filtration systems tightly pack the carbon to a micron rating of 1 micron absolute, this means a greater level of containments are removed.

Enhancing the properties of water

Enhancement – The Secret of a good water filtration system

Once water is purified a process of `enhancement’, can achieve the following;

  • MagnetiteRetain beneficial minerals
  • Balance & Stabilise pH
  • Improves solubility making water ‘wetter’

How can a water filtration system create healthier water for you to enjoy at home?

Magnetite – Nature’s Energy

After years of experimentation Haru Naito perfected the art of natural water enhancement. Using an array of specially positioned ceramic magnets and surrounding them with magnetite, the same iron rich rock found at the world’s great springs, the resulting energetic field created the desired effect.

As water passes through this ‘activation zone’ waters hydrogen bonding network is altered and its bonds realign to create a water that is more soluble – ‘wetter water’

A water filtration system that can do this provides the type of water your body and cells crave.

Science has discovered that the strength magnets and the manner in which they are aligned can recreate the same effect mountain springs have on water. Too much energy or an incorrectly aligned field produced an inferior water. This is the reason why one company has patented the process.

Additional discoveries have been made to create the best water for athletes and the world.

Other media used in water filtration:

Far-Infrared – Tenko-Seki

`Tenko-Seki‘ a rare mineral with some very special properties unknown to most people. Few have even heard of it or know anything about its remarkable qualities….

SGES Tenko-Seki
Tenko-Seki emits high frequency far infrared rays at a very specific wavelength. Far-infrared rays are known for their very powerful healing and detoxifying effect on living things.

Today, thousands of healthcare professionals use infrared to help detoxify cells and accelerate healing.

But who would have thought it could be applied to WATER?

Dr. Serge Jurasunus, a famous Portuguese complementary health specialist, said;

“Tenko-Seki far infrared rays shorten the cluster chain of water… increases specific gravity and hence water adherence to cell surfaces… [Tenko-Seki] is active at the cellular level – the body’s ultimate defence system.”
Townsend Letter (Issue #203 June 2000)

While Dr. Jurasunus was referring to Tenko-Seki in a ceramic detoxification bath, one company has known the ability of Tenko-Seki to enhance water many years before.

When combined into a single water filtration system the volcanic minerals produce a water that is independently hailed for its rare qualities.

Bakuhan™

Bakuhan (pron. Baak-oo-han) is a unique volcanic stone that is the only mineral ever to have been officially certified by the Japanese Ministry of Health as a medicinal mineral1. Bakuhan, is exclusive to only one type of water filtration system. It balances pH and imparts unique structural properties that contributes to the the unique qualities of this water filtration system.Taicho

Taicho™

Taicho (pron. Tie-Ch-oh) has been used for thousands of years by the Japanese to inhibit bacterial and algal growth in water. Taicho also emits mild far-infrared red rays that help to neutralise any remaining pesticides or chloro-organics.

Quartz CrystalsQuartz Crystals

Specially fashioned crystal micro-balls improves waters wetting ability whilst imparting a natural sweet taste to the water.

WHY USE A WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
It is important to use a water filtration system because common tap water ingredients include:

•Chlorine – is added to Melbourne water to kill bacteria. However chlorine can react with other dangerous chemicals to produce trihalomethanes which are known carcinogens. 2
•Fluoride – is added because it is meant to be good for our teeth. The Health (Fluoridation) Act 1973 (that Melbourne Water refers to on their Web site) states that fluoride added to water can be “any compound of fluorine”. Fluoride compounds include anything from sodium fluoride, calcium fluoride, potassium fluoride, lead fluoride, aluminium fluoride, hexa-fluorisilicic acid, sodium silicofluoride and any other type of fluoride. Calcium fluoride is the fluoride that is naturally found in water. However Sodium fluoride that is added to toothpaste is a chief component of Sarin nerve gas and the main ingredient in rat poison, as any pest control expert will tell you. 3
•Organic chemicals – make it into the water supply as a result of contamination from local industry. 4
•Nitrates – can also be found in water as a result of the widespread use of fertilizers. Nitrates are water soluble. Nitrates can be converted to nitrites in the digestive tracts, where they can form cancer-causing nitrosamines. 5
•Heavy metals – are found in drinking water due to contamination from metal pipes and other sources.
Other common contaminants include synthetic hormones, PCBs (Poly Chlorinated Bisphenyls) and Xeoestrogens (chemical substances that mimic estrogen in the human body). 6

Investing in a good water filtration system is investing in your future. Saving money is not helpful if you don’t have good health to enjoy it.

WHY DRINK WATER?

Water is a key element to life. It is important to ensure that the body is well hydrated by drinking water.

Water lubricates the body, carries nutrients to the cells and carries off toxins, ideally it is best to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day.

In the book “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”, by Dr. Batmanghelidj he states that “a dry mouth is the last outward sign of extreme dehydration”, so if you only drink water when you are thirsty then it is too late, you are already dehydrated. He also states that when humans do not recognise “their water need, they become gradually, increasingly and chronically dehydrated with progress in age”. Dr. Batmanghelidj argues that we need a new paradigm when dealing with pain treatment. Pain that is not caused by injury or infection should be interpreted as “water shortage in the area where the pain is registered”. These pains should first be considered as dehydration. Dr. Batmanghelidj has had success in treating patients with increased water intake for complaints such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, joint pain, allergies, and high blood pressure. Dr Batmangehelidj even states that “Morning sickness of the mother is a thirst signal of both the fetus and the mother”.1

For those of you who think that drinking tap water is fine. Think again. The bottled water craze has taken for a good reason – tap water is not ideal for our health for all the aforementioned reasons.
