Breast Lumps

A breast lump is a localized swelling, protuberance, bulge, or bump in the breast that feels different from the breast tissue around it or the breast tissue in the same area of the other breast.

There are different reasons why breast lumps develop. Most lumps are not cancerous and do not pose any risk. Causes include infection, trauma, fibroadenoma, cyst, fat necrosis, or fibrocystic breasts. Breast lumps may develop in both males and females, but they are much more common in females.

The female breast consists of different types of tissue. The two main types are milk glands, where milk is made, and milk ducts, or tubes, for milk to pass through to reach the nipple. Breast tissue composition can vary, depending on the function. For example, when a woman is breastfeeding, her breasts will change. They will feel and look different.

The breast also contains fibrous connective tissue, fatty tissue, nerves, blood vessels, and lymph nodes. Each part of the breast can react in different ways to changes in body chemistry. These changes impact the sensations and texture of the breast, and they can affect the development of breast lumps.

Breast Cyst

A breast cyst is a localised collection of fluid in the breast. Fluid is constantly being produced and reabsorbed in the milk ducts in the breast. When a duct becomes blocked, or the amount of fluid produced is greater than the amount absorbed, fluid accumulates which causes cysts. Cysts can be single or multiple. They can come and go, and vary in size during the menstrual cycle. Breast cysts are very common. Studies have reported cysts in up to 50% of women who attend breast clinics. Cysts can develop in women of any age. They are most common in the 30–50 year age group. They usually disappear after menopause, but in some women they can last throughout life. Cysts are more common in post-menopausal women who take hormone replacement therapy than in post-menopausal women who do not. All of these factors support the theory that breast cysts are hormonally responsive, although it is not clear why some women form cysts and others do not.

Fibrocystic Breasts

Fibrocystic breasts are characterized by lumpiness and usually discomfort in one or both breasts. The lumpiness is due to small breast masses or breast cysts. The condition is very common and benign, meaning that fibrocystic breasts are not malignant (cancerous). Fibrocystic breast disease (FBD) is now referred to as fibrocystic changes or fibrocystic breast condition, is the most common cause of “lumpy breasts” and affects more than 60% of women. The condition primarily affects women between the ages of 30 and 50, and tends to resolve after menopause.

The diagnosis of fibrocystic breasts is complicated by the fact that the condition can vary widely in its severity.

Coconut Oil, fractionated

What is Fractionated Coconut Oil?

As the name implies, Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very, very long shelf life and greatly increased stability.

In addition, fractionating raises the comparative concentration of Capric acid and Caprylic acid, thus giving it more of antioxidant and disinfecting effect.

Preparation of Fractionated Coconut Oil

For this, hydrolysis of coconut oil is first carried out. Then, the product is passed through steam distillation to obtain the fractionated coconut oil. The result is a thin oil full of medium-chain triglycerides.

Composition of Fractionated Coconut Oil

Fractionated coconut oil is predominantly composed of Capric and Caprylic acids.

Uses of Fractionated Coconut Oil

Being thin and stable, it has plenty of uses which can be broadly categorized in the following applications.

Cosmetics

It is widely used in the preparation of soaps, lotions, ointments and other cosmetics.

Aromatherapy

It is used as a carrier oil, since it facilitates the absorption of other oils and herbal extracts.

Medicines

It is used due to its antiseptic and disinfectant properties.

Hair Care

It is also used in a number of hair care applications.

Culinary Usage

It is used in cooking, as it does not go rancid easily and is very stable.

Yes, we all need it, but why, and what is it and what does it do?

Some basic Magnesium facts…

Magnesium is the 8th most common mineral in the Earth’s crust. It is important for humans but equally as important for animals and plants. In fact all of life on Earth is based around the Magnesium atom, the organising ion in Chlorophyl, which is responsible for the process of photosynthesis.

Magnesium facts for the human body.

We all need Magnesium which is required for more than 300 functions of the human body’s biochemistry. We need it for energy, brain function, DNA function, muscle and nerve function and blood glucose levels as well as the proper functioning of the heart. Magnesium can also prevent Eclampsia during pregnancy. So why aren’t we getting enough through our diets?

More Magnesium facts.

The soils in most countries is woefully deficient in Magnesium. Therefore it simply does not enter the food chain in adequate amounts for ongoing health. Additionally, almost every single drug from headache tablets to antibiotics cause a significant drainage of Magnesium from the body. Any use of energy also uses large amounts of Magnesium. We need to take it regularly just to keep up our normal levels. Yet tablets and powders simply can not provide an adequate replacement due to their bioavailability being as little as 10% of intake. (Cohen.) Transdermal Magnesium (Applied to the skin) provides an answer for all these problems. Neither is it something that requires experimentation. Most pain in the body responds to transdermal Magnesium within a few seconds. It truly is an amazing mineral.

Lugols Iodine

Lugol’s Iodine, also known as Lugol’s Solution, first made in 1829, is a solution of elemental iodine and potassium iodide in water, named after the French physician J.G.A. Lugol. Lugol’s iodine solution is often used as an antiseptic and disinfectant, for emergency disinfection of drinking water. Lugol’s Solution has been used more rarely to replenish iodine deficiency.[1] Likewise, in the Chernobyl disaster some Lugol’s solution was used as an emergency source of iodide to block radioactive iodine uptake, simply because it was widely available as a drinking water decontaminant. Since the 1970s Lugol’s Solution has been available in tablet form, generally buffered. However, compounding chemists (pharmacists) had probably been creating tablets containing Lugol’s Solution since the early 1900s.

Bring Back the Universal Nutrient Medicine International Medical Veritas Association

Medical textbooks contain several vital pieces of misinformation about the essential element Iodine, which may have causedmore human misery and death than both world wars combined. Dr. Guy Abraham

The present situation we find ourselves in at the very beginning of the 21st century demands that we quickly reengineer medicine, not only mainstream allopathic but all the branches and alternatives. Consciousness is just forming around the conclusion that the majority of humans today are suffering from chronic poisoning. It is not just the fact that the tide of toxic chemicals is rising and accumulating in our cells and blood streams, wrecking physiological, emotional and mental havoc, but there is also a sheer drop in the quality and quantity of key nutrients being consumed. Iodine is a perfect example, in today’s world the last thing you want to be short on is iodine.

Iodine is detected in every organ and tissue in the body.

We might debate about the optimum dosage but we should find quick agreement that iodine is absolutely necessary for a healthy thyroid as well as healthy ovaries, breasts and prostate. Beside the greater risk for breast cancer in iodine deficient women, there is convincing evidence that iodine deficiency increases also the risk of thyroid cancer. These are just a few of the reasons to become interested in iodine. In an age of increasing toxic exposures we all need more not less iodine because it has very specific protective effects against several common poisons like fluoride, bromide, and to a lesser extent it helps eliminate lead and mercury from the body. Dr. Sebastiano Venturi, in Evolution of Dietary Antioxidants: Role of Iodine, makes it clear that iodine is a crucial antioxidant and apoptosis-inductor with anti-tumoral and anti-atherosclerotic activity. When we supplement with iodine we will see increased antioxidant activity [i] and immune system function [ii].

Iodine, Cancer and Fibrocystic Disease

Several studies have demonstrated a relationship between low iodine intake and fibrocystic disease of the breast (FDB), both in women and laboratory animals.[iii]

Dr. David Derry said, “Lugol’s solution is an iodine-in-water solution used by the medical profession for 200 years. One drop (6.5 mg per drop) of Lugol’s daily in water, orange juice or milk will gradually eliminate the first phase of the cancer development namely fibrocystic disease of the breast so no new cancers can start. It also will kill abnormal cells floating around in the body at remote sites from the original cancer. Of course this approach appears to work for prostate cancer as prostate cancer is similar to breast cancer in many respects. Indeed, it likely will help with most cancers. Also higher doses of iodine are required for inflammatory breast cancer. As well we know that large doses of intravenous iodine are harmless which makes one wonder what effect this would have on cancer growth.”

Because iodine deficiency results in increased iodine trappingby the thyroid, iodine deficient individuals of all ages are more susceptible to radiation-induced thyroid cancer.

Iodine plays a crucial role in the body’s elimination system by inducing apoptosis, or what is called programmed cell death, and this is vital because this process is essential to growth and development and for destroying cells that represent a threat to the integrity of the organism, like cancer cells and cells infected with viruses.

Women with goiters (a visible, non-cancerous enlargement of the thyroid gland) owing to iodine deficiency have been foundto have a three times greater incidence of breast cancer. A high intake of iodine is associated with a low incidence breast cancer, and a low intake with a high incidence of breast cancer. Dr. Donald Miller Jr.

Iodine is a very important primary nutrient in regards to people’s health and healing. So essential is iodine for life that those who are deficient in it suffer from a wide variety of afflictions (including cancer) that are difficult to trace back to this trace mineral. Iodine used to be considered much more importantly, so much so that up until 20 years ago, it had been routinely added to bread as a supplement. “Just how likely is an iodine deficiency in cancer? In an in-house study, 60 cancer patients (various types) were given the iodine-loading test and then measured for urinary excretion. All 60 patients were found to be seriously deficient in body stores of iodine and some had great excesses of bromine. The best case excreted only 50 percent of the load and the worst excreted only 20 percent (that means they were retaining a very high 80 percent). Folks, these are some serious numbers. One hundred percent of these cancer sufferers were deficient in iodine! I assure you the problem is population wide,”writes Dr. Robert Rowen.

60 million mainland Japanese consume a daily average of 13.8 mg of elemental iodine, and they are one of the healthiestnations based on overall well being and cancer statistics. [iv]
